The scholarship committee promotes through home schooling groups and private schools as well as the public school the opportunity for the students to apply for these scholarships.
Students currently in college are also eligible.

Scholarships, three (3) $1,000 Each:

The Lillian Banks Scholarship for $1,000.

Established in honor of Lillian Banks, former BFRW Legislative Chair.

The Barbara Davis Leadership for $1,000.

Established in honor of Barbara Davis, past BFRW President and Treasurer, 

And former Chairman of the Brevard Republican Party.

Trade School Scholarship for $1,000.
Established to support young people that choose to go to a trade school after high school.

Scholarships and Internships

National Pathinder Scholarship

The National Federation of Republican Women established the National Pathfinder Scholarship Fund in 1985 in honor of First Lady Nancy Reagan. The three annual scholarships of $2,500 provide financial assistance and support to students seeking undergraduate or graduate degrees. Undergraduate sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as students enrolled in a master's degree program, are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Recent high school graduates and undergraduate freshmen are not eligible. Scholarship winners may not reapply.

Completed applications should be forwarded to the Brevard Federated Republican Women, P.O. Box 410143, Melbourne, Florida, 32941, and emailed to Dixie Riepl at driepl6871@gmail.com  by June 19 of every year. BFRW will select one application to be forwarded to the Florida Federation of Republican Women. The state federation then selects one winner to be forwarded to the national federation for consideration. NFRW makes the final determination.

Betty Rendel Scholarship

The National Federation of Republican Women established the Betty Rendel Scholarship Fund in September 1995 in honor of NFRW Past President Betty Rendel's extraordinary leadership skills and dedication to the Republican Party in her home state of Indiana, as well as at the national level. The three annual scholarships of $1,000 are awarded to undergraduates who are majoring in political science, government or economics and have successfully completed at least two years of college coursework. The recipients are chosen from applicants from across the nation. Scholarship winners may not reapply.

Completed applications should be forwarded to the Brevard Federated Republican Women, P.O. Box 410143, Melbourne, Florida, 32941, and emailed to Dixie Riepl at driepl6871@gmail.com by April 15 of every year. BFRW will select one application to be forwarded to the Florida Federation of Republican Women. The state federation then selects one winner to be forwarded to the national federation for consideration. NFRW makes the final determination.

Dorothy Andrews Kabis Memorial Intership

The Dorothy Andrews Kabis Memorial Internship honors the former president of the NFRW (1963-67) who later was appointed U.S. treasurer by President Richard Nixon. The internship gives young undergraduates the opportunity to spend part of the summer working at national headquarters in Alexandria, Va. It includes a small monetary allowance, roundtrip airfare to and from Washington, D.C., and housing in the D.C. metropolitan area.

Applicants must be at least a junior in college or a college student 21 years of age or older. They should have a general knowledge of government, a keen interest in politics, campaign experience, and sufficient clerical office skills that are adaptable to a busy office. Internship recipients may not reapply.

Eligibility:

Male or Female high school senior, including home-schooled students, must be U.S. Citizen and Registered Republican; high school graduate between ages of 17 and 21 years old; resident of Brevard County.  Applicant may also be a current college student in a local college or enrolled in a trade school and no more than 21 years old.

The completed BFRW Scholarship Application is appropriate for either the Lillian Banks Scholarship or the Barbara Davis Scholarship.  To be considered for each of these, need to only submit one application; however, only one scholarship will be awarded to one applicant. 


Requirements:
1. High School Level Grades, Class Rank and High School Graduation Date.
2. SAT/ACT Test Results (Not needed for Trade School Applicants)
3. High School Awards, Honors and Activities.
4. If Dual Enrolled at Eastern Florida State College (EFSC), grades are to be submitted in a sealed envelope, degree seeking and expected graduation date.
5. List of Community Service and/or Employment.
6. Three (3) recommendation letters (From an educator, church/synagogue associate, an employer and/or a volunteer organization associate).
7. Copy of letter from the college to which applicant has been accepted.
8. Copy of voter registration card.
9. One page Essay, signed and dated, to include college course interests or trade school interests.  Also , your future goals and plans to be a productive citizen on behalf of the Country.
