BFRW Scholarships
Brevard Federated Republican Women (BFRW) is a member of the Florida Federation of Republican Women (FFRW) and the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). BFRW is a strong community of dedicated women advocating for conservative principles and active participation in local politics. BFRW mission is to empower women from all backgrounds in the political process and provide a forum for women to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas.
Purpose of the Scholarship
Brevard Federated Republican Women established a scholarship program to invest in the next generation of leaders — young people who will carry forward the values of faith, freedom, and responsibility that define our Republic.
By supporting high school and college students, we help cultivate critical thinkers, informed voters, and future community leaders who understand the principles of liberty, limited government, and civic engagement.
This scholarship is not only a gift of financial support — it is an invitation to leadership. Through education and encouragement, we aim to inspire students to participate in public service, understand the Constitution, and take pride in America’s founding ideals.
BFRW believes that empowering young minds through education is one of the most meaningful ways to secure the future of our country and to keep our conservative values alive for generations to come.

TRADE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
The Brevard Federated Republican Women (BFRW) has established this $1,000 scholarship to support young people pursuing education in a trade or technical school following high school.
Trade schools play a vital role in America’s economy and communities. They provide practical, hands-on education that prepares students for essential, well-paying careers—often in less time and with far less debt than a traditional four-year degree.
Our nation depends on skilled professionals—electricians, welders, mechanics, nurses, plumbers, HVAC technicians, builders, and many others—to maintain our infrastructure and power our economy. These careers are the backbone of a self-reliant, prosperous America.
Trade education restores the dignity of work and reminds young people that success is not limited to a college diploma. It opens doors for those who learn best by doing, offering opportunity, stability, and pride in craftsmanship. Supporting trade education reflects Republican values of personal responsibility, economic independence, and opportunity for all.
BARBARA DAVIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Brevard Federated Republican Women (BFRW) has established this $1,000 scholarship in honor of past BFRW President and Brevard Republican Party Chairwoman Barbara Davis.
Barbara and her husband Richard moved to Brevard County from the Buffalo, New York area in 1999, after spending summers on their boat in Indian Harbor Beach. In New York, Barbara served as Vice President of a road and bridge contracting corporation. After Richard’s passing, Barbara became active in local civic life and was an avid tennis player, leading several women’s tennis teams across Brevard.
Her involvement with BFRW began after attending a U.S. Senate candidate forum hosted by the Club. Inspired by the mission of Republican women, she soon became deeply involved—serving as Treasurer, then President of BFRW, and later as Chair of the Brevard Republican Executive Committee (BREC). She also served as Vice Chair of the Republican Party of Florida Chairman’s Caucus and returned to serve again as BFRW Treasurer.
Barbara was a passionate Republican, a strong advocate for veterans and military causes, and a steadfast supporter of BFRW’s scholarship programs for students. Her legacy continues through this scholarship, which encourages civic engagement and educational excellence among young Republican women.
LILLIAN BANKS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Brevard Federated Republican Women (BFRW) has established this $1,000 scholarship in honor of long-time member and past BFRW Legislative Chairwoman Lillian Banks. Lillian’s dedication to civic engagement and legislative education reflected the best values of Republican women—leadership, service, and advocacy for good governance.
BRADLEY MOORE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,000 scholarship was established by Patricia Moore-Carroll in loving memory of her son, Bradley Moore, to encourage young women pursuing careers in the mental or physical health fields.
Bradley battled bipolar disorder for 11 years and was tragically injured in 2002, resulting in his passing at age 28. His life reminds us of the urgent need for compassionate, dedicated professionals in healthcare.
This scholarship supports students preparing for careers in nursing, psychology, counseling, or related medical fields—those who will carry forward the mission of care, healing, and hope for others.
